Ronald William "Ron" Howard is an American movie director and producer, as well as an actor. Howard first became famous as an actor starring in the movies of 1960s and 1970s. Since he quit acting, he has directed plenty of movies, including the bestseller The Da Vinci Code, and its sequel, Angels & Demons. The movie is grounded on the novel written by Dan Brown, the author of The Da Vinci Code which made the world split into two groups - its supporters and opponents, including the Roman Catholic Church. Even though The Da Vinci Code was banned in plenty of countries, a considerable number of people all over the world have watched the film. Angels & Demons revives to display the immortal rivalry between the Roman Catholic Church and scientific knowledge depicted in The Da Vinci Code movie. The plot of the film Angels & Demons gives prominence the intentions of Harvard University historian and iconologist Robert Langdon to unveil the mysteries of a powerful underground society called the Illuminati. The Vatican faces a great threat when the principal four cardinals to substitute the deceased Pope are abducted by members of the Illuminati devoted to scientific truth. The Church is promised that each cardinal will be killed one per hour starting at 8 pm, culminating with a detonation of an antimatter bomb under St Peter's Cathedral at midnight ruining the sacred city. To face down the horrifying threat, the Church calls upon the services of religious iconologist Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) who is very knowledgeable about the Illuminati. He is put to work immediately, rushing to find the abducted cardinals by deciphering clues, symbols and other historical facts. Robert Langton together with scientist Vittoria tries to unveil the mysterious death of the Pope. The images of Rome in the film are magnificent and picturesque. The watcher has an opportunity to walk around the Italian capital and see the most prominent historical and cultural places of interest together with the characters. The movie does well to involve interest through its explanations of historical events and the inside organization of the Vatican. The plot keeps the viewer engaged and interested until the very end of the movie. The plot unfolds with unexpected twists and turns that leave the watcher thrilled.
