While Blu Ray technology has been in the background for some time, only recently have individuals been able to buy Blu Ray movies and dedicated players. For, while originally in development, Blu Ray technology was aimed more at gaming consoles and theaters than television. However, now with HDTV and 3D televisions hitting the marketplace, along with combination Blu Ray and DVD movies on one disc, there has been an increased interest in such technology. So, what exactly are the differences between movies played on a Blu Ray player and movies played on a standard DVD player? Quality, crispness and freshness of picture. In addition, if one is planning on obtaining one of the new 3D style televisions at any time in the future, one may want to consider using such a player rather than a standard one. As, when one is investing in 3D movies, one wants to have the best picture possible. Of course, the more one knows and understands about how such players work, one then understands the importance of keeping all media clean and the player in proper operating condition. For, in doing so, one can protect such discs while also assuring one can watch a movie at the time one wishes to do so. Otherwise, one may have to have discs replaced, or at the very least resurfaced if such discs become damage due to misuse. Also, while providing a cleaner, clearer picture and supporting 3D television are excellent features, there are also others. As such, whether one has a standard DVD or a disc specifically developed for players with this newer format, often such players can read both. So, often, unless one determines that a specific video needs to be replaced, one can still play an entire DVD collection on such players. Also, while such technology has been around for some time, availability of titles is still somewhat limited. However, often one can find a wider variety of titles at the local video rental store or an online rental service. So, one may want to consider purchasing a player while renting such titles. In addition, as Blu Ray has already become somewhat known as the player to use with new 3D technology, most likely one is going to also see more Blu Ray movies hit the market over the coming months. This is especially true in areas such as the United States, and others where individuals share gift giving as part of holiday routines. For, what better time to introduce new technology than during a traditional gift giving season? For, while titles have been released in limited quantity, there are still over 2,500 which have been released in the United States and Canada alone. However, Japan has seen a wider range of titles, as currently over 3,300 titles have been released in the country. Of course, both surpass Australia which has only seen approximately 1,500 titles released to date. To this end, while one may have a standard DVD player and HDTV, one may want to consider obtaining Blu Ray movies and a player, then purchase a 3D television at some point in the future. For, in doing so, one can then view some of the most real and dramatic action in a variety of movies. As such, once the ability to watch first run movies at home comes to pass, popularity for such technology is going to grow at an even faster pace than one has already seen to date.
