Due to increasing industrial and household demand of conventional gas, its discovered quantity is decreasing day by day. The Growth of this gas is also very slow because its rate of usage is much more than its rate of growth. The Good news is that we still have huge resources of gas in the shape of unconventional gas. Indeed, it is very difficult to get this gas out of extreme depth but new technologies are coming for digging out for increasing its reservoirs. This gas is in much more quantity than the old one. These gas sources include shale gas, tight gas and coal bed methane. These reservoirs are called low permeability reservoirs. These resources are not quality reservoirs but they are in excess quantity. There is a need of specific technology to produce this gas commercially because its cost for extracting from the deep rocks is making it unavailable for common use. But eventually, we have to move to these resources in order to fulfill our needs in the future. First source is tight gas sands. These are huge sources and no layout is defined for these reservoirs. Different companies are estimating their resources and still rough figures are being calculated. Although these values are much more than expected but the reality is that resources are more than this amount. Advance drilling and stimulators are required to produce this gas on commercial level. Coal seams are found in different areas of the world. Coal bed methane is also found but it is still not produced for commercial use. The Factors that control the growth of these gases are similar. Difference comes in storage of these gases. Natural gas is stored on the surface of coal while this gas is found on rocky mountain surfaces with low pressure environments. Shale gas is also part of it. Resources of natural gas are found in most of countries. These resources can be used to recover coal bed methane. Advancements in the technology are playing an important role in exploring more gas reservoirs. Modern machines have reduced drilling cost so that gas could be extracted by lowering pressure with fewer budgets. Its resources have directly proportional relationship with depth. As we move deeper, its sources keep on increasing. Many companies are making heavy investments in such projects because they will be very important energy sources in the future when all natural gas reservoirs will be used up. With the increasing needs of gas, it is our responsibility to use these sources with extra care because if our rate of usage will keep on increasing then no reservoirs will be able to meet up our demands in the future. Many research teams are working to find other energy solutions because gas is not the only source of energy. A Natural phenomenon also causes gas production. These are land sliding and earth quakes. They cause different layers to mountains to move like a sandwich. As these shale rocks are not so hard, gas comes out when they break.
