The Fibonacci System It may seem strange that an Italian who lived in the Middle Ages could be of much help to someone wanting to make money from gambling. However, Leonardo Fibonacci of Pisa made a mathematical discovery that has been used in many sciences including geometry, computer science, psychology, botany, astronomy... and also gambling. During his mathematical studies Fibonacci discovered an extremely interesting series of numbers, which starts as follows: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233, and so on. Each number in the sequence is calculated by adding together the previous two numbers; e.g. 5 + 8 = 13 The sequence of numbers to which Fibonacci gave his name is apparent in many different areas, from the spirals on sea shells, which multiply according to the Fibonacci sequence, to the distances of the planets from the sun. This almost magical series of numbers can be used as the basis of a very successful staking plan as well as a very effective race selection system. The Fibonacci Staking System Fibonacci’s sequence of numbers can be used as an incredibly effective staking system, which can be adapted to suit your budget. As with most staking methods you’ll need to equate a stake point with a particular amount. For the sake of simplicity, we’ll assume that one point equals £10 (although you can choose any amount you wish). Each bet you place is staked according to each number in the Fibonacci series, starting off with one point. If your bet wins, you go back to the beginning of the sequence. If it loses, you increase your stake in accordance with the Fibonacci progression. You increase your stake with each losing bet up to 13 points, the seventh number in the series, which we recommend as the maximum amount you should bet with. Here is an example of how this works, using the example of 1 point = £10. In this scenario our 2/1 winner in Race 7 has earned us £260 profit. You’ll find that small profits stack up over time. Also, remember that a winner at higher odds will generate far larger profits. Advantages of The Fibonacci Sequence The beauty of the Fibonacci Staking System is that you generally only need a winner at slightly better than evens in order for each sequence to produce a profit. This has huge advantages over many other staking plans where you simply double your stake after a losing bet. This often leaves you having to stake huge amounts chasing your losses. The Fibonacci sequence offers a far more practical way of increasing stakes in order to leave you in profit, allowing you to hold on for a winner for longer, while keeping the possible losses down. Casino Games The Fibonacci Staking System doesn’t necessarily only apply to racing - it can also be used in casino games, for instance. You can keep increasing stakes in accordance with the Fibonacci progression until a winning bet pays off your losses on the sequence. This system would involve selecting an even money bet (e.g. betting on black) and staking in accordance with the Fibonacci sequence of numbers. So, with your first bet you’d stake one point on black. If black loses (i.e. the wheel comes up red), continue betting on black using the series one point, one point, two points, three points, five, eight, and so on, until you eventually win on black. You then start a new sequence, staking one point.
