Slow Pc Troubleshooting

By: Jerret Unamo

If you're interested in slow computer troubleshooting, then this article will highlight what you have to know so that you can remedy these slow computer problems. Over time, most computers start to run slower than they did when they were new. While it is true that this can happen for lots of reasons, the one I am going to discuss in this article effects almost all computers at one time or another. It is something that effects Windows computers, so this article does not relate to Apples or Linux computers. I'm going to be informing you about the problem, how it occurs, and how to fix it.

Because modern computers are so customisable, Windows needs a way to keep track of all the important settings for your computer. This data is stored in a database called the regsitry. Computers use this database so that the different components can work together well. As long as there are no corruptions or incorrect values in the database, Windows will continue to work properly, and at top speed. If the registry becomes corrupted, then the computer will no longer run as quickly or as efficiently as it should. It can even get so bad that the computer completely refuses to work.

This can come about for several different reasons. Sometimes it's down to bad programming, as inexperienced coders leave errors in their programs that lead to corruptions being entered into the database. Unfortunately, even expensive software can contain bugs or even sometimes malicious segments of code that lead to severe errors.

It can also be caused by a severe software crash. Also, when you switch the computer off without properly shutting it down, there's a risk of damage. Because the computer is constantly using the registry, there is a strong chance that it could be saving information to the registry when the computer suddenly powers down, leaving the registry file incomplete or even in an unreadable state.

And, finally, there are deliberate attacks, by viruses and other hostile programs. There is more than one reason why they may choose the registry as a target. By disabling certain features of the operating system, it can make it much harder to detect or to remove the virus infection once it has occured. Another popular motive is to make money by forcing you to visit sites that are disguised as the sites you normally use, such as Google. If you perform a search at one of these fake sites, the only results you will get to see will be from advertisers who pay the hackers for this stream of traffic. As a result of this, amny hackers have made small fortunes.

Often, the only sign that you have showing that these things have happened is when the computer performance degrades. Ignoring the problem would be a big mistake, as it will continue to get worse with time. Fortunately, with the right software, it's really very easy to fix the corruption. Fixing the problems is as easy as running the software. It will automatically locate the problems and then repair them for you.

My top recommendation is a program which is called Registry Easy. Despite being one of the easist programs to use, it still has many powerful features that will allow you to fix problems in the registry and in other parts of the operating system. This is what helps it be the most effective slow computer troubleshooting options readily available. You can get it free of charge to give it a try - simply click on the link below.
