This is a short write-up regarding slow computer fixes. Reduced computer efficiency can really impact your performance as a computer user. As a result, you may find yourself waiting in frustration as your computer tries to catch up with what you last did. Because so many people feel so strongly about this I decided I should write an article addressing the problem. The first thing that most people think of when they consider slow computer performance, is the physical components of the machine, including the memory, processor and hard drive. There is no denying that these components can have a big impact on computer performance, but that does not explain how a computer that was once running fast can start slowing down. The speed of the processor and memory are pretty much constant and do not degrade over time, and while the hard disk can become slower as it becomes cluttered, but this can be easily handled by removing unwanted files and programs, and making sure that you regularly defragment the hard drive using the built-in utilities. While it's true that you can upgrade these components of the computer in order to get a speed boost, if you found that your computer has slowed down, there's usually something else at work which you need to address. One of the factors of a computer that most people are unaware of it is the database which is central to the way Windows works. This database is called the Windows Registry, and it contains all kinds of important settings about all of the different software and hardware components of your computer. The information is used to allow the different components that make up your computer to work with each other in the correct manner. Incorrect values within the registry can lead to incorrect performance on the part of the computer, which reduces the efficiency of the programs you are trying to run. Now, the registry is a very complicated database with tens of thousands of different entries, and for a person to manually go through those looking for errors and then repairing them, you would need to have an amazingly in-depth knowledge of all the different possible settings for every different possible computer configuration, which would basically be impossible. Also add to this the fact that if you made a single error in your editing you could make your computer unstable, even possibly causing it to crash so severely that it will not work any more, you can see that manually editing the registry database is not a good idea unless there's something very specific that you want to achieve with a certain software program and there's no other way to do it. All in all, manually editing the registry is best used for specific purposes, like activating hidden features of certain programs, and even then only by power users who know exactly what they are doing. So exactly how does this help the regular computer user who's trying to find slow computer fix free? Well, there are now programs which can automatically clean your registry for you, so you don't need to have this in-depth encyclopaedic knowledge. These programs are designed to scan through the registry and find any errors which have developed over time, and then to remove them and replace them with the correct settings. It is possible for a computer program to do this because it is able to draw upon a large database full of information about the correct settings that should exist within the Windows registry, which enables it to find the incorrect entries rapidly. Clearing up these errors can make your computer run much more efficiently and quickly, as it is no longer grinding to a halt due to unnecessary conflicts between the software and hardware.
