How To Prevent Your Children From Looking At Adult Websites

By: bryan harkins

You do not need me to sit here and tell you that in this world, it is almost impossible to search the internet without finding an adult site. The sad thing is it is hard even if you are intentionally trying to avoid these sites. If you have children at home it is very important you protect their eyes from viewing a site that should not be viewed. In this article we are going to teach you how to filter certain sites on your computer.

1-Change your search settings

I know that by changing the settings on your search engine, you are not blocking sites from being viewed, but you are blocking them from showing up in the search. This is a huge help because the majority of people who surf the internet do it through a search engine. To change the settings is simple, all you have to do is go to the preferences and the search engines home page and select heavy filtering. It is important that you make sure it is working properly by doing a few searches on your own.

2-Get a filtering software like Net Nanny

Have you ever heard of a website filtering device called Net Nanny? If not you are in for a treat. Net Nanny will actually allow you to filter websites based off of what you want filtered. But one of the best parts about this program is the fact that it doesn’t stop there. If you want you can also monitor your child’s use on facebook, myspace, and almost any instant messenger.

3-Use a program called pure sight

I know there are some people out there who are just looking for an inexpensive way to monitor what their children are looking at. If that is you then a program called Pure Sight is perfect. The reason you will save money by using Pure Sight is because you will not be able to monitor the Myspace, Facebook, and AIM. But if you do not care about that then why not save some money right?
