This is a page about how to fix slow computer problem. Slow computer performance is just one of those things that can make it very unpleasant to use a pc. What happens is you find yourself sitting around waiting for your computer to catch up with you, as it is not able to deal with the speed that you're working at. Your computer has probably started out fast but got slow over time. That is the topic of this article which is going to tell you what has caused it to slow down and how you can speed it up again.

We often think that the most important thing related to computer speed is the components inside the computer, such as the hard disk or processor. Thoughts of components such as the hard disk, the CPU, or the RAM of the computer will often come to mind in this situation. Given that the processor is the first thing that most people go for in order to speed up the computer, you might be surprised to know that this is not really the main source of the problem. The processor is usually the fastest component inside the computer, and it's a matter of the weakest link in the chain causing the problem. What I mean by this, is that no matter how fast the processor is, if there's something that slowing it down, then that is the source of the problem. While the processor is waiting for the slowest component to respond, it's actually just wasting time.

As the inner workings of the operating system a hidden way from normal users, most people were not aware of the different components that could go wrong. This is deliberate, as it makes it easier to use the computer. In spite of this, there is one part of the operating system that you should learn more about. I am talking about the Registry, which is responsible for keeping track of all the important settings needed for the computer to run. If any of this information were corrupted, it would make the computer run much more slowly. Over 80% of Windows computers will suffer from some form of registry corruption within its lifetime. Fixing this is necessary to how to solve slow computer problem.

Often there is a simple solution to a Windows problem that you can perform by hand, as you follow a detailed series of instructions that you can find online. The Windows registry is a different matter, as it so complex, and is so sensitive to the smallest mistake. Not only would you need to spend weeks looking through all of the different settings, you would actually need to know what all of them should be set to on your computer. As you would imagine, this is the kind of in-depth knowledge that hardly anybody in the world has, and even if you did know all these different facts, it would still be much more efficient to allow a computer program to repair the registry for you. Now, add to this the very real risk that an error could be introduced by accident that would cripple the computer, and you can see why it is just not advisable.

Given that this challenge of how to solve slow computer problem is so technological in nature, and as the concept of personally modifying the registry doesn't seem possible, there's a selection of software packages which were developed to repair these complaints for you.Theyt automatically scan the registry for you, repairing the errors as they are found. With an in-built database of expected values, plus the ability to compare the computer setup with the existing registry values, these programs are very good at quickly finding the errors. This saves you a lot of time and also neutralizes the risk of adding errors by mistake. This will make your computer a lot more efficient and fast, because the errors that were causing the problems will be gone.
