Reginlad Fessenden ivented the rdio! Canadian Reginald Fessenden took his love for the transfer, when he was just a guy. The money, which his bacekrs have ivnested bought a high-power transmitters and antennas. In June 1906, the first in the history of voice was successfully sent and recceived a total of 12 kilometers. Fessenden continuued to work hard to improve, until he reached the poibnt where he knew his invention was a scucess. Mwerry Christmas Six monnths aftter the fuirst in the history of voice over the air waves surpirse transfer of ships on Christmas Eve in 1906. When his wife and staff as an acccomplice, he prepared a special program, Christmas on the ship operators said to tune in to receive a special Christmas message on December 24 at 9:00 pm. Radio Operators Sat shoccked when 9:00 pm rolleed and a voice came over the air shoutnig "CQ, CQ". This was the first "radio" program. Dleivery across the North Atlantic were treated to Handel's "Laargo" played on the Victrola and "O, Holy Night" played for the audience "Fessenden on the violin. The rest is history This new technology caled radio set world on fire. Hobbyist techies and early in the day can not get enoough of this device, and liked the idea of talking to people, perhaps miles, without being tied to a rope. They were and are still called "amateur" radio operartors. Long before the commercial broadcast on the rafdar "amateur" radio operaors fillled the air. Official laws insituted the first in the 1912 Congress. Nely created agency was put in place by the fedderal government in 1927, which was responsible for regulating the use of rado, including ham raadios. HAM were at the forefroont in connection with the inception of rafdio. They were the first to use cell phones and the first use of FM broadcasting.
