Never worry if you are not that good, or even if you can play a tune. Bear in mind, every guitarist started like this. A few good guitar shops will have a testing room where you can make as much noise as you like. Pay attention for buzzing on the frets and check that all of the controls as well as the machine heads move freely and smoothly. If you locate a guitar you like then try to strike a deal with the seller. Remember that you are in a great position to get money off, or some bits and pieces thrown in for free. If the vendor won't move on the price then carry on your search, you may discover a better deal, and if not you can always come back to the shop. A good beginner guitar will last you until you are ready to move up to something more costly. Get pleasure from playing it and expect it to win a place in your heart and a space in your guitar rack for years to come.
