That sounds like a long time. Nonetheless, I am a rather casual WoW player. At the time, I had a plugin that might announce my play time into guild chat when I leveled. I am not sure what the exact number was but I'm sure it took me somewhere approximately 30 days of play time to achieve that level. Since then, I had tried reading articles on the net and using other methods like QuestHelper to optimize my leveling. Not anything seemed to work very well. Once you can know the missions at a certain level and in certain areas, you can get better your efficiency by studying adventures with targets in similar areas together and stuff but was always finding my self travelling long distances to turn in a single quest after which not find any quests to select up. Also, since you gain levels you are usually continuously going into new areas and all that data is no longer useful. Zygor's In-Game Alliance & Horde World of Warcraft 1-80 Leveling Guides have changed most of that. I picked up the guide shortly after I got the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. Since the Burning Crusade had start I had languished on my main character at 61. I discovered it extremely difficult to discover the quests and their goals and I kept back tracking and performing some very inefficient leveling. Once I installed Zygor's Guide, everything went away. Now I just following the simple on screen information and I leveled from 61-80 in about 6 days of play time. Some say they feel this might take the fun out from the game. I did not find that to be true. I enjoyed the game even more. I enjoyed experiencing the excellent content that Blizzard has created without the nagging feeling that I can be combining some other quests with the ones I was working on at the time. With Zygor, I do know that I am not planning to be wasting my time backtracking constantly. Also, I find that I'm not doing any grinding. There are several steps in the Guide that says "grind to level X" but I have not found that I actually had to do that except at around 10th level. I highly advise that you get one or both of the Zygor guides. They come in both Alliance and Horde versions and they take you from 1-80 in about 3 weeks play time.
