Be Prepared: Read New Parent Tips

By: Norman Kirby

The moment you see two red stripes on that pregnancy test strip, your journey to parenthood starts. New parent tips will be very helpful in your quest, especially if it is your first time. It is never easy to become a mother or a father. There will be many challenges along the way, but there is nothing that you cannot get through triumphantly when you work together and support one another.

The bigger challenge though, as seen in various new parent tips, rests on the mother as she will be the one carrying the child for nine months. She will directly experience the changes that having a new baby brings, which in turn will require her to change her habits and lifestyle. The first three months of pregnancy is the most crucial in the formation of the baby. Because of this, the mother must be extra cautious in her daily activities as well as in her eating habits. Aside from reading new parent tips, she together with the father of her child must also consult a doctor as the pregnancy progresses.

Physical change is one of the many things that an expectant mother will experience throughout the nine months of her pregnancy . Drastic weigh gain is expected since she will now be eating for two persons, herself and the baby. We all know that the tummy grows bigger because of the baby bump, but some women are really prone to flabby arms and thunder thighs, so she better be prepared for the worst. If her mother gained so much weight during pregnancy, chances are she will too because it is in her genes.

We all know how most women make a big deal out of their appearance. They spent most of their lives trying to lose weight in order to look good and be able to look good in anything they wear. They go on diets and do serious exercise just to maintain their figure. But once they become parents, they instantly gain excess weight because they tend to eat more and exercise less. They are not allowed to do tedious exercises and go on crash diets for the sake of the baby. Developing babies need all the nourishment they can get to avoid any abnormality when they are fully grown, which is why the mother must eat healthy food and not deprive herself. Light exercise, on the other hand, is allowed as it has been proven beneficial to the development of the child.

Just because the father doesn't get to experience pregnancy doesn't mean he should not be involved in the whole parenting process. His full support and understanding of the mother can go a long way during her pregnancy, especially when she starts to gain weight and fee insecure. By simply saying that she is still beautiful and sexy to his eyes, he can make the woman feel better and so loved, which will also benefit their unborn baby. He may also read some helpful new parent tips in books and the internet for guidance.
