April of 2010, the Department of Export Promotion and the Ministry of Commerce of the Royal Thai Goverment are featuring the Bangkok International Gift Fair as well as the Bangkok International Houseware Fair. The Fair, being held on the 20-25 April, 2010 will take place at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibitioni centre (BITEC), Bangna, Bangkok, Thailand. The two %LINK2%, which are described as featuring the "soul and style of the orient," will be presenting exquisite and desirable household and holiday items, and is being sponsored by the following major associations in Thailand Thai Gifts Premiums & Decorative Association, Thai Toy Industry Association Thai Housewares Trade Association, Northern Handicrafts Manufacturer and Exporter's Association (NOHMEX), Thai Stationaries and Office Supplies Association, Design and Objects Association and the Home Decorative Design Association. : The two shows are Southeast Asia’s most prominent gift and houseware trade events, and attendees will have a chance to meet with designers, the industry’s insiders, traders and consultants. The shows features a long list of products and services ranging from home decorative items, household products, handicrafts, artificial flowers and plants, Christmas decorative items, candles and spa products to home textiles, stationery, toys and games, small electrical appliances, and much more. The registered list of probable exhibitors is likely to top 600 companies, exhibiting in 1,600 trade booths, with both home-based and overseas participants. Display categories will include: artificial Flowers/Plants and Potpurri, Christmas Decorative Items and Candles, Gift, Decorative Items and Handicrafts, Home Textile and Fabric Decorative Items, Household Products, Toys and Games, Stationary and Miscelaneous Items. Floor space untis of 3x3 meters are being rented out to companies for a fee of $2,000 per unit raw space. The first three days are designated as "trade days," and the last two days as "public days," The trade fair promoters depict the expected trade show visitor profile as below:. for trade days the organizers are expecting buyers, importers, inudstrial manufactureres, merchants, distributors, wholesalers, retail chains, department stores, etc, last two unrestricted days the fair owners are expecting trade visitors, local customers and foreign travelers. Countries participating in the trade show, this time, will include: Korea, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia, Nepal, India, Hong Kong, Ghana and Mayanmar. Signigficant numbers of visitors are expected from all over the globe, including visitors from America, Europe, Australia, Asia and Africa. Last year the fair had over 90,000 visitors and organizers are expecting to top that this year. Most, more than 77,000 visitors came to the fair during the two "public days." Total exhibition footage last topped 45,000 square meters, and the event organizers expect that this year's fair will have equal or increased footage.
