Air hockey games are something my whole family had fun with for many years. I recall when my dad originally bought my siblings and I an air hockey game. We were overjoyed. We played it for hours on end. Of course, this was before there was a Wii, Super Nintendo, X-Box and the like. We loved the air hockey game. My father used to play with us kids and even my mom would get in on a match or two. I can honestly look back and say that a lot of my most appreciated memories from my childhood involve the air hockey game and our family tournaments. This past Christmas I decided to buy an air hockey game for my family. I have two sons and one daughter. To start with my spouse was somewhat tentative with us getting an air hockey table, she assumd that our daughter would hate it and that our sons would monopolize it. I must say, I had the same concerns. After a great deal of discussion we decided to get the air hockey game and institute several family rules. We wanted it to be a family pastime and not something only for my two boys. They were delighted with the suggestion because they assumd that my wife and daughter would be easy to beat. Wow, they were incorrect. I warned the boys that air hockey was a sport of speed, alertness and reactions, not a game of force and power. They did not listen and after my wife and daughter beat them soundly for weeks, they finally took the hint and stopped with the power shots and began to focus more on speediness. My whole family plays the air hockey game and laughs and have an awesome time. It is just like when I was a adolescent. The customary amount of heckling is handled when they are made. Although the mockery is just as much a part of why we giggle as the sport itself. We keep the antagonism friendly and make it a family affair. When we put on a family play-off, my wife goes over the top with the snacks. She makes the kids believe that they are in a real competition and they need to eat and drink to stay on the ball. My boys always eat well but they eat like grown men during air hockey game nights. My daughter even eats a bit more than usual (so as opposed to eating like a bird she eats like a big bird). If any family is considering an air hockey game for their home, I would recommend it highly. The air hockey games produced now are a good deal better in quality and are just as much enjoyment as they were when I was a youngster. I ordered my air hockey game on the net and got a fantastic deal on it. I plan to buy one for my brother's kids this Christmas so they can have fun too. My brother approved when I original spoke of it and his wife was on board promptly after speaking to my wife. There are few things that bring our family together. We all have active lifestyles and different interests. Our family air hockey game tournaments without doubt bring us all together.
