As a lot of individuals know, Adobe is working on bringing Flash out for mobile phones, which would open a whole extra world of mobile entertainment (mobile phones wouldn’t be held to only third party applications like YouTube, but could actually go to venues like Hulu to watch TV shows). There is, of course, a combat brewing around Adobe and Apple. Though mobile phones and the iPhone have never been able to play anything that is Flash based, Adobe has gone and added a new error screen that pertains directly to the iPhone and Apple. The slip memo says “Apple restricts the use of technologies required by items like Flash player. Until Apple eliminates these restrictions, Adobe cannot provide Flash Player for the iPhone or iPod Touch.” I am assuming that Adobe’s idea when it published this was to get users angry enough to get in touch with Apple concerning Flash not being supported. The only thing I can think of that could perhaps get users even more irritated than saying that Apple is at fault is to say which devices do allow Flash. I am really looking onward to owning Flash on my Palm Pre, although now it doesn’t look like I will be getting itin any way on my iPod Touch.
