Our pick of the cream of London's burlesque, cabaret and comedy scene for birthday and hen party groups.||What London burlesque, cabaret and comedy club is top for birthday or hen party groups|||}A survey of London's burlesque, cabaret and comedy scene and recommendations for hen party and birthday party groups Hints and advice on what to look out for.

London is suddenly awash with venues doing burlesque and cabaret but which ones are greatest for birthday parties and hen parties where not everyone is necessarily going to be a burlesque aficionado and where other factors like food, and whether there is a disco and dancing afterwards are going to be just as important.
Of the West end venues the pick of the crop for birthday parties and hen parties has to be Madame Jojos and Volupte. Both have late licences and dancing afterwards although both though are also very pricey. . Volupte is also first rate but can be a bit officey and is more the supper club and show tip. On the more intimate tip is hosting some hot acts right now but it really is only big enough to swing a cat in and for a whole evening out might feel slightly claustrophobic. Also worth considering is the Tassel club every Friday at Pigalle's - although Pigalle's generally has a somewhat mixed reputation Expensive too. In East London Bethnal Green Working Mens Club hosts some fabulous nights but the venue is hideous and security legendary for their rudeness (at times). The drinks are food are not from the top drawer either One to avoid. West and North London are pretty dry of good venues too although an honorable exception is Proud Cabaret plus Cobden Club and Notting Hill Arts Club host some excellent show cases
South London is the place where a lot of the newest talent is going with Peacock Bar and Banana Cabaret leading he way in particular. Peacock Bar has cleared up with its combination of burlesque comedy early followed by retro Djs after - all till 2am every Friday and Saturday For birthday party and hen party groups where people want to go on stage their Stars In their Eyes" programme is also proving a big winner for them. South Greater london is also the home for Banana Cabaret which remains resolutely popular despite regular price hikes and no review would be complete without mentioning the excellent Vauxhall Tavern (note gay venue).
Of the commercial comedy clubs Jongleurs and several of the Leicester square venues are a safe if not inspiring choice However expect at least one venue to adopt a named night soon.. Whilst you do need to do a bit of homework it is a great way to hear fresh and more off beat material
